The age of personal creation is here. At least for me it is.

Even if the company doesn't make it, even if all this time invested the last two years goes nowhere, at least I walk away with this: I can build whatever I want now.

This morning I wanted to get back into gratitude journaling.

Used to do it. I have this old Kindle Scribe and I thought why not resume on that again?

Before, this is what I would have done: searched Amazon, bought a hard copy, or found a digital template. I remember even gifting those to friends' bdays. That was the move.

Today I just prompted it.

Opened Codex.

I told it I wanted a gratitude journal for the Kindle Scribe (2022 model) I have.

It went and did the research. Figured out the dimensions. The page sizes.

(I nudged it towards LaTeX, so it used that framework as the basis. Figured out the right formatting, the font sizes, all of it.)

Was not one shot. Took maybe five or six iterations to get my aesthetic right. Maybe 35 mins.

But now I have a 365-day gratitude journal. 700 pages. Exactly how I wanted it, with exactly the elements/aesthetics I wanted. Even one of my fav. quotes!

I think this is going to happen to everyone.

For creators, for makers, (which I think is all of us), whatever you want is going to be a prompt away. It's almost undeniable at this point.

But there's also this vortex. These models are sucking up everything. Every middle layer opportunity is absorbed. For companies like us, we build tools to help creators make things. That's the bet. But my hunch is this same wave might also make us irrelevant. Why pay for a platform when you can prompt your way to exactly what you need in 30 minutes?

I've been thinking about this constantly. These last few weeks especially, since Dec 2025, since the newer frontier set of models hit (Paranoia is probably a useful skill for company building right now).

In any case, for individual creators/makers? This is going to be incredible. Whatever you want to build, you'll build.

What a weird and exciting time to be alive.
